The City of Angels witnessed widespread festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters worldwide joined local residents in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.

Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.

Online footage depict countless of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The procession path concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Celebrations began well before the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and City Unity

However, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Recordings from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a combination of applause and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his address.

The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
